What personal data we collect & why we collect it

When you sign up to use the website we collect your email address and a password. You may also provide us with personal details such as your name. Your password is encrypted and stored in our database to enable you to login to the site.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Any payment details that we receive are handled by third party payment providers PayPal and Stripe. All credit card information is encrypted and transmitted securely via SSL. We do not store any payment details anywhere on our site.

All business information that you enter into the site, including images, PDFs and contact information are accessible to any site visitor and may be downloaded.

Your location data is also accessible. If you work from home please do not use your address but include your suburb only. Your customers will still be able to find you when making appointments to see you. Your safety is our concern but your responsibility.

Our maps are powered by Google. When you click the ‘Use My Location’ button on the business search pages your location is shared with Google. This information is not accessible to us.

Analytics

We use analytic data to track site traffic and interactions. We use analytic tools from third party companies, mostly Google and Facebook. How we use this data varies from time to time but it is essentially to provide us with information about how our users came to our site and what they did when they got there. Some demographic data is accessible to us such as age, gender and location. This helps us to make sure we are serving up relevant content and to maximise user experience. We treat analytic data anonymously.

What happens to your data once we have it?

We retain your contact information for anytime we need to contact you. This is strictly for the purposes of the website and may include the prevention of misuse such as spam. Spammers will be blocked from the site.

We also may use your contact details for our marketing activities. All marketing is done through third party software with unsubscribe links to remove yourself.

We do not share our contact list with anyone for any other purposes. We take your privacy very seriously and use any data in what we consider to be an ethical way.

You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

What data breach procedures do we have in place?

We host with our website with arguably one of the most secure WordPress servers available in Australia, WP Engine. We also have other software in place to prevent unauthorised access to our site and database. We keep all software up to date on a weekly basis as a minimum protocol. We use extensive back ups to restore the site in event of unauthorised access.
